I had a similar problem with my LG Vu. I found the culprit to be a combination of the Mobile TV service and a microSD card. About a week ago, someone playing with my phone happened to press the Mobile TV icon (I am not a mobile tv subscriber) and since then I would get intermittent freezes. I thought it was my battery since charging the phone, taking the battery in and out, waiting a while, etc, seemed to temporarily fix the problem. At the time, removing or inserting my microSD card changed nothing.
Later, I used TheDave's guide to remove the mobile TV icon
. I rebooted Vu and it worked great (my microSD card was inserted at the time). After a while of the phone working, I decided to press the mobile TV icon again
, just to see what would happen. My phone locked up, I rebooted, and there was the mobile TV icon again. Now, after rebooting the phone several times (only possible by removing and inserting the battery) it would freeze up a few seconds after loading the main display.
The only way to get it working again was to remove my microSD card.
Finally, I used Dave's guide again to remove the mobile TV icon and inserted my microSD card. Everything works fine now with the microSD card inserted, as long as I don't press mobile TV.
So it turns out having both a microSD card and the mobile TV service caused the freezes for me.
For reference, my microSD card is 2 gigs with the only media on it being about 200 songs, 30 games worth, and a few extra applications, which comes to about 1.5 gigs. I thought it was worth mentioning, since I figured Vu might be searching the card during startup and that was a possible cause of some slow-down/freeze problems.
