For LG Vu's with Software V10s-DEC-12 ONLY:

To determine what software version you have on the phone: go to Menu, Settings (4th tab), More, Handset Information, then scroll down and see what it says for Software Version.

Requirements:
- Download LG 3G Mobile Download Program or LGMDP for short.
- EFS File Explorer. If you don't have this you can download it in the Modding Tools and Downloads thread from
the main page. (If EFS does not work for you, use Bitpim)
- Now as long as you have installed the drivers and followed the instructions in the Getting Started section
  you're ready to mod.

Directions:
1) Make sure the phone is in Data Service mode and connect to your computer with the data cable.
2) Start the LGMDP app and click I agree.
3) Click the Tools tab and select Log Extractor. When this pops up click Connect. The port select box should pop
up and auto select the phone, then press Connect.
4) After it connects to the phone you can close the app and open EFS (or Bitpim). It should now connect. You do
not need to download any files from the phone with LGDMP to make this work.

Thanks to rgviza for reminding me to update this. Sorry for being lazy guys. Embarrassed
Have fun modding!

That worked, I'm using bitpim, it's finally recognizing my phone, but now it won't let me "get phone data" i can open the box but i can't click on anything, its running as "other cdma phone detected"  I read somewhere that you can use vx8700, I tried using that but I get an error message when I try to "get phone data". Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you already try the above instructions? Don't forget to open the log extractor when you use the LGDMP app. before you start EFS.

Sounds like a driver issue to me. Check your device manager and see if your getting errors on the lg modem.

Do this, connect to LGDMP and open the log extractor and download the RecMngr.bin file. You don't need this file, but I want to make sure your connecting correctly to that app. Then close LGDMP and open EFS. Report back and let me know what you get.
