Sorry that you are having so many problems, just a heads up if you did the java bypass you have to reinstall all of your apps and games for the bypass to work.  And for the demo games and apps make sure you did step 6. Now click on the folder /ams/ There should be a file named "_folder_db_"     Delete it, that should remove the icons

1. Connect Vu with EFS, Instructions Here: [Link]

2. Navigate to /LGAPP/Media/Java/ams

3. All the "M" numbered folders each correspond to a separate game or app installed

[SNIP]

AT&T:
M000 Mobile E-mail
M001 Billboard
M002 XM Radio
M003 Music ID
M004 InStyle
M005 MySpace
M006 Weather
M007 Movies
M008 Bejeweled
M009 Jewel Quest
M010 NY Nights
M011 Midnight Pool
M012 World Series of Poker

Alright after several hours spent carefully reading before I touched anything I have gone through and deleted the old stuff.  Everything worked flawlessly!

I have two minor concerns before I begin installing any new Apps or Games and decided to make the post here because one of them deals with this topic.  Apologies if it is in the wrong area; mods feel free to move it.

1-- Before I discovered this place I had actually purchased the full version of BEJEWELLED so I did not delete M008  *or* M020.  I think that M008 was the trial version and M020 the full version(?) But I have only that one icon left over from all the old installed garbage.  And it still works (even had my saved game) so I don't want to mess with either one if possible.

But I saw in the Installing 141 games/apps WITHOUT or WITH a MEMORY CARD topic (read all 10 pages) thread that there MIGHT be an issue with the numbering of the MXXX folders when installing new Apps or Games.

tl:dr I have M008 and M020 left - will this numbering cause hassles when I go to install new games/apps or will they simply be numbered M021, etc?

2-- Would you advise that I apply a Theme before or after new games/apps

TIA  And thanks for the awesome contributions of everyone here!

if you are going to install your games/apps without a memory card you will  be able to rename the folders, so that wont be a problem, if you are going to use a memory card to install the jar file then save to your phone, I did not have a problem with this either and i also had a couple games I did not delete and it did not overwrite/replaced the file it just skip to the next number.  And it will not matter either way if you install themes first or games/apps.

v12w61,

Thanks for the speedy reply!  Now it's off to install until sleep claims me.

Worked great.  Only hiccup was that it moved two apps from Apps to Games so I just moved them back.

You cannot delete MediaNet...I have searched various forums including XDA, Blackberry, etc....evidently it is embedded in the OS.

Is there a way to delete the Mobile Email icon after deleting the app?  Because I deleted everything, and the icon is still there.  All it does now is give an error when I click it.  I would just like to delete it from the menu...

This is great for removing the game demos and the items in Applications under the second Main Menu tab.
I searched but could not find any threads on how to remove the IM and Mobile Email icons in the first Main Menu tab, the Celluar Video, MEdia Net, Applications and AT&T Mall icons in the second tab and the Quick Tips in the fourth (settings) tab.  I just don't want them hanging around since I don't use those services.  Has anyone discovered how to delete these icons and posted the tutorial yet?
