So far I've been told the fix works (not sure now...waiting on second response). I worked on a CU920 that was having the inaccuracy problem.

PM me if you want to confirm whether if it is your hardware or you phone's files are corrupted.

Thanks.

Update on what was tried so far:
File replacement does no good (also tried Factory Reset after this)...with or without calibration (from menu settings)
Factory Reset does no good (with original RecMngr)...with or without calibration (from menu settings)
Currently we are at factory reflash and NO calibration.

This may possibly be a hardware defect from the manufacturer.

At this point...until I get more to Vu's to play with...I would recommend you to get an exchange if you are still under warranty.

Why don't you just post it here so that we all can try it and report whether it works!  Smiley

You probably know this, but the file that may be corrupted is also the file that also contains the contacts. So if people have easy access to this, I don't want to be held responsible if I didn't give a caveat about how you lose groupings, icons, images, etc associated with contacts (even though it has been backed up to SIM - it defaults to name and cell phone only). Furthermore, the file replacement will put it back to factory mode except you don't lose anything else besides the contacts. Just to give an example, the vibration feedback, full brightness, no shortcut menu, are a few of the undoings.

Lastly, I want to keep the posts to a minimum because I have the CU920 and don't want posts for other phone models unless I have few to confirm. I appreciate the thought but I think this way is better for me and those who really need it and not ones whom just want to experiment.

NanoLT, I agree with you. If you have to restore the RecMngr.bin file, then this is not something that anyone should try unless they are having that specific problem and understand that the contacts, address book, text messages, and a lot of other stuff is stored in that file.

Nano do you think backing up my RecMngr.bin file would be a very good thing to do while everything is working correctly just in case somewhere down the road I run into Touchscreen inaccuracy problems?? This way if it happens nothing is lost and a uncorrupted version of this file is neatly tucked away, an once of prevention per say..

pt1209: I would personally back that file up just in case you need your contacts (as the SIM doesn't back up the contacts in its entirety) since it is probably the only thing that is worth keeping. As far as the fix goes, I had to take it a notch further but I haven't heard from the person if it is still working fine.
