**Importance of backing up: You should NOT rely on the files provided here as backup, there are files specific to your phone that you may not be able to replace with the files provided here. So NEVER delete/replace/overwrite your entire LGAPP folder. The reason the files are provided here are for modding purposes and as true last resort solution (cause we all make mistakes).

**Another important note: The best practice when making changes in the file-system is to delete, then copy the files over. Also, don't unplug your phone too quickly, it CAN cause file corruption which will lead to bricking your phone.

Backup Files:

There are full firmwares in the downloads section here: http://www.lg-vu.com/index.php?topic=3902.0.
DO NOT make threads asking for files you didn't back-up. You can easily obtain them yourself. There are way too many of you who post before searching/looking at FAQ.

Bricked Phone:

In order to fix your phone, you need to be calm and patient. Make a wrong move and no one will be able to help you.

Method A) First thing to do is determine if you can connect your phone to your computer and open its file-system up. If you can, just replace the files that you messed up with the original files (If you didn't back-up get the files above) and then restart your phone.

Method B) If you cannot access your file-system because your phone is constantly rebooting, the first thing you need to do is turn your phone off. If the on/off button doesn't work, pull the battery out to turn it off (DON'T TURN IT ON). Then connect your phone to your computer (While its off, and it should turn on by itself and go into a charging screen) and see if you can access your phone's file-system, again if you can replace the messed up files, and restart your phone.

Method C) If you STILL can't access your phone file-system, don't fear there's still hope. Some users have reported success using this method, but it may or may not work for you. Try holding all 4 buttons (camera, lock/unlock, and volume rocker) on the side when the phone is starting, see if you can get it to a white screen with information stating "This phone has the IMEI. If you want to make the gang image erase the IMEI," if you see that, connect your phone to your computer and replace the files, then restart.

Method D) If you find that you cannot stay in the gang image screen above, meaning it turns blue/black with error fatal when you connect to the phone, then do this: Remove the SIM card out and turn on the phone. Hopefully you will get the emergency call screen to display (where you can only make 911 calls). Connect to your phone now and replace the files.

If you've read all of the above and you still have problems, stay calm and post your problem and situation here.

Got it fixed.  Deleted each folder and replaced it one by one with the cu920 files downloaded from the site.

Replacedeach folder in which section? I only changed my media/flash section. All i did was the EIP. now my phone is stuck in a calibration loop

Make sure you have your original files that you have deleted in preparation for EIP.

Check to make sure you have T1_menu (for CU920) and T2_menu for other versions. And since you are going back to default factory files, make sure you have the factory images as well.

Culprit found: It is a defective phone, tried the hidden menu settings. The hardware is not registering any feedback on the upper corner right region thus always giving an invalid calibration even before seeing the second part of calibration.

Deleting the factory images (specifically the Sunset.jpg) will keep you going in an endless cycle of on/off. Since you are having issues with Bitpim, go ahead and try EFS. There is also a tutorial available on how to use it if you prefer pictures and/or videos. To get to the tutorial and EFS download, use my link down below and pay attention to Part D. Make sure you have the factory files (from the downloads) and put those images back on and it should remedy your issue.

If you are in the gang image screen then you should be able to access it very easily with EFS. Try the link again but this time, uninstall your drivers (with phone disconnected), reinstall it...basically follow the modding 101 tutorial from PART A thru D and you should be able to see the phone. That is the least of worries since it is easily fixed, so try that again.

Did you hold all right side buttons down simultaneously while you restarted phone ?
Did you see the "IMEI/Gang" image ?

Ok do this.
Replace/restore this file:   LGAPP/Media/Images/Default

There is an image called sunset.jpg, restore it. There are backups if you need them. See the link in the top and first post.
