Wow!! First of all I'd like to say great job! Everything looks great. I personally like the icons on the second one, but i like the layout better on the first where you have voicemail instead of email. I do think you should have both voicemail and email on there. You could probably lose quick tips and utilize both.

^ Yes, you can upload your own images to use as icons for a custom theme, though I won't be doing that. My goal is specifically to add extra functionality/simplicity to the phone. The tutorial would definitely be possible but also questionable, since not everyone has Adobe Flash CS3, and the process isn't as simple as it probably should be, with lots of room for mistakes/confusion. I'm hoping in the future we will be able to load the data from an XML file, so the end users (you guys) can just open the file up in wordpad, change a few values and you'll be good to go.

Anyhow, are you guys happy with how it looks right now? (in terms of what icons are on there/arrangement) I'd really like to hear from you guys. Unless your specifically waiting to be able to customize it to your own tastes.

^I think you should def remove the dial icon and instead put a calender icon. cuz the dial pad is already on the screen, the last tab on those 4 tabs.

That is so very awesome-tastic (© 2008, Raven  Grin ) There's nothing short of accolades for your work on this. Being able to customize it ourselves is a plus, especially since so many of us have so many different tastes and expectations of our phones. That notwistanding though, I'd probably do:

Voice Command, Voice Mail, Messaging, Address Book
Mobile Email, Internet/ Media Net, Calender, Bluetooth
Camera, Music Player, Applications, Games
Pictures, Videos, Alarm Clock, Calculator

I figure "Contacts" and "Dial" are on the bottom shortcut menu, and sound options have their own menu at the top, next to the task manager, so those listed above would be the shortcuts I wouldn't mind cluttering my front page. Regardless, your work on this= COOLNESS.

That is awesome.... I like it. I agree dont need the dail menu but would there be a way to put a bookmark icon in? I always go to that so I would really need that. Can you also arrange them in anyway that you want? Thatks for getting this done will deffinatly be my next hack.

Yeah, a bookmark icon is an seriously excellent idea. The CS3 apps are like 400-600 individually, or bundled for like 1400 or so (roundabout figure), depending on the package... pricey. If you go to Adobe.com you can download trials of them.

I think it would be good if it looked something like this (yes it is very crudely done):
